How to make your footprint smaller

Carbon footprint reduction is on most companies’ minds – if not yet in everyone’s business strategies – and it is high on the list of concerns for today’s consumers. Come 27 May, it will feature prominently on the agenda at ECR Europe’s Forum & Marketplace in Berlin, too.

A breakout session will be devoted to it for the first time, with speakers from Boots, Danone, Innocent Drinks, IGD and the Carbon Trust examining the main issues and highlighting practical success stories.

They will explain the driving forces behind developments – from climate change and rising fuel prices to consumer demands and legislation. This, in the shape of the EU Emission Trading Scheme, will from 2012 apply to all industries, including food manufacturing and retailing.

The session, one of four under the theme of Sustainability, is expected to attract considerable interest.
